Location of initial drilling program and surface
rock chip gold geochemistry
Summary highlights of Roar’s drill results
Roar’s initial drill campaign at Triumph (July
2012) comprised six holes, totalling 2,134.6m and focused
on a 1.7km trend identified from rock chip sampling
and surface “IP” geophysics in 2011. The
program was designed to test for gold mineralisation
on three priority targets in the south of the newly
defined ~15km² Triumph gold system.
In total, drilling returned 70 ≥1m intercepts at
≥0.1g/t gold which emphasises the broad nature of
mineralisation. The results have confirmed gold mineralisation
occurs in sheeted quartz-sulphide veins associated with
an intrusive phase and remains open in all directions.
Tony Schreck, Director of Roar comments,
“We are very pleased with these results and the
early success achieved from such a wide spaced initial
drill programme on previously untested areas. These
results confirm our interpretation that Triumph is an
overlooked large gold mineralised hydrothermal system.
The combination of higher and lower grade intercepts
from the initial drilling and geophysical work is interpreted
to represent the outer zones of a large scale system.
Further drilling in our next phase of work will vector
into hotter parts of this large system, targeting the
definition of broader gold mineralisation. Furthermore,
now we have well defined mineralisation controls we
can apply them to our other high priority target areas.”
About the Triumph Project
Triumph is Roar’s flagship project and is focused
around the Milton goldfield where historical mining,
circa late 1800’s, yielded high grade gold. Mineralisation
is hosted in a tonalite intrusive predominantly masked
by shallow <10m cover sediments. The goldfield and
surrounds are part of an underexplored 15km² hydrothermal
gold system. Initial surface exploration by Roar returned
rockchip results of up to 255 g/t gold and soils up
to 4.67 g/t gold.
Mr Tony Schreck (MAIG) is
a Director of Roar Resources Pty Ltd and compiled the
technical aspects of this report. Mr Schreck has sufficient
experience that is relevant to the style of mineralisation
and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity
that is being reported on to qualify as a Competent Person
as defined in the 2004 edition of the Australasian Code
for Reporting of Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves. Mr
Schreck consents to the inclusion in the report of the
matters in the form and context in which it appears.
